He Has Lived a Quality of Life

by Imayanti Tarunadjaja

Very very sad today, knowing God has taken Oom Tjan to His Kingdom of heaven. I was just numb in tears. I missed Oom Tjan dearly … This year is a very sad year.

From my father’s family, Oom Tjan was the only senior still alive.

I live in LA, so we kept in contact through whatsapp.

After my husband passed away, I had plans to return to Indonesia once a year to celebrate Oom Tjan’s birthday. But sadly, due to the pandemic it only happened once.

Together with my cousins from Malang, we went to Bandung to celebrate Oom Tjan’s birthday in 2019, and it turns out that was my last meeting with Oom Tjan.

Oom Tjan is like my own father, I valued his wisdom, his family tree knowledge, biblical knowledge & loving father.

The love & our relationship to him I feel very special.

For me Oom Tjan is genius , intellectual person . Remembering many beautiful occasion and family names in details.

We felt honored that we have such great relationships.

Oom Tjan has lived a quality of life, life that radiates everyone to love one another.

“He is remembered as such generous, kind hearted always supplied bawang goreng , always smiling …. “ These are the comments from my daughter Melanie and my son Brian as I mentioned to them that God has taken Oom Tjan home.

Rest in Peace Oom Tjan.
